History & Story

David Citadel Hotel was open on January 1998 in a prime location in front of the Old City walls. The hotel Boast 385 impeccably designed suites and guest-rooms, fine cuisine, a luxury gym and a holistic innovative spa, year-round heated pool, and private executive Lounge. The David Citadel Hotel was recently renovated under the skillful hands of world renowned architect Piero Lissoni.

The hotel was completely renovated during 2014-2019 under the skillful hands of world renowned architect Piero Lissoni. The renewal of the well-established hotel included the redesigned of the public spaces, Suites and rooms, as well as the Lobby, the Pool, the Spa, the Gym, the Banqueting spaces, the Restaurants, and the Executive Lounge.
The elegant style of Lissoni comes to life in the uncompromising design. Carpets were replaced by wooden floors, walls are covered by vintage paintings of Jerusalem, and deep purple and gray hues replace the beige.

David Citadel Hotel is proud to introduce a unique Children’s play center state of the art designed by Sarit Shani Hai. Sarit specializes in design for kids such as schools , kindergartens and children and youth rooms. The playroom divides to young children activities and one to youth. The focus on the older children is to have activities that can also suit ‘shomeri shabat’ such as ping pong table, billiard, foosball, Board games and a mini soccer court. As well as 6 stations with XBOX and PlayStation along with iPads that are given out which can be used anywhere around the several sitting options.
